Burning Down the House

Tonight I don't plan on writing a lot.

This day took so much out of me. I didn't wake up when I wanted to but I still managed to shower before starting my 50 mile drive to work. And yes, I do drive all that way every time I have to work.

Oh! reason behind my title. I'm definitely listening to Burning Down the House by the the Talking Heads. You know it, and if you don't, shame on you, look it up.

Anyway when I got to work today I was supposed to be hosting (seating people). But it got so busy, and the servers can only handle so many tables. When each server had 6 tables they made me go serve too.

I like serving because of the money but I really just wanted a break. It is a lot of work. And for all you Mr. Pinks out there, you better tip, and be nice to your waitress. You don't understand the stress until you've done it.

So I took three tables and made $14 in about an hour. When the rush was over I was allowed to go back to hosting, thank goodness.

When I drove home my wonderful uncle was in town. I met him at his hotel and we headed to walmart, he wanted to look at laptops because he wants a new one. He wasn't very impressed with walmarts.. but since I live in a tiny town its kinda all we had to offer.

Hmm, after that.. we went to a steakhouse that was up the canyon a bit, just out of cell service. He likes to take me to places that I couldn't afford without him. My steak was $25! Which is outrageous! I looked at him all wide eyed and told him that is about as much I spend on food in a week. He merely laughed..

We talked and enjoyed our meal. Which was amazing. That steak was like butter. Then we basically drove around the rest of the night.

I love when he comes out, he inspires me. And makes me want to do random things like pack a few sandwiches and just drive. And end up wherever I end up. He says he does that all the time. I would love to do that. Don't worry about a thing, right Bob?

Sorry tonight's entry was more of a journal than my deep thoughts. I just had a great day, with almost too many thoughts.

I would love to hear from you guys though, if you're reading, comment and let me know, that way I know I'm not just talking to myself. Have a great night you guys!

Week 3 - Good Morning!

Goooooood Morning! I'm going to come right out with it. I have not been doing great at getting up early. That's because over the weekend, I decided that what I wanted to do with my extra time, was cuddle with my fiancé. It was late mornings from there. BUT! Here I am, at 6:30am, writing to you. It's not all bad! I'm up earlier than usual. Positive thinking right? Had an amazing weekend, had a photoshoot with some women I didn't really know and we pretended we were in a Coven for Halloween, I'll attach some stuff for you to look at. 👀 And as always life is busy busy busy, but I'm choosing to look at it as "productive".  I always like ticking something off my list!  Next list to start working on, my wedding planning list. Who would have thought there was SO much to getting married! 😅 I hope you enjoyed the small snippet I shared! Comment and tell me what you thought!

Not Like The Movies

College is not what people think it is. In movies it's shown as one BIG party. Lots of hot people, drinking and parties. My experience in college has been somewhat like a party but nothing like college in movies. When I first moved into my dorm I expected my roommate to be my best friend and go everywhere with me. That is not the case, my roommate and I talk, but we don't go everywhere together. Honestly sometimes it can even be awkward when we are left in the same room together. My first night at the dorm I met the other girls that I share a suite with. They looked like the typical preppy girls, mean girls if I may. Turns out that they weren't as bad as I had originally thought they were. That night we went to a tye dye party. We were given a T-shirt and we could go dip our shirts in big buckets of dye. There was music blasting and people dancing in the bright colorful lights. "This is college" I thought. This is going to be so much fun. The dance was ...

Life Changes

The year 2018 was not a good year for me. Two things that will send someone into a crippling depression happened to me... As I am still healing from this most recent one, I don't want to go into much detail. But for the rest of this post to make sense you'll need to know that Vincent and I are no longer together, after 8 years.. As time goes by I expect I will be able to open up about it. The past few years I have been stagnant. I still started a Master's program and got a new job as a manager, but I was just existing. I wasn't actually living my life. At the beginning of October I started a 6 week fitness challenge at a CrossFit gym in town. I lost 15 pounds and began to love myself again. But I still wasn't happy. It took the earth shattering, heart breaking, event to make me realize that I needed to do something about the way I have been living. I was one of those people who got up, went to work, came home and sat on the couch watching TV and waiting for the ...
